Counterweight

The scales are crooked and nobody is allowed to touch the blocks. Good thing you brought a magnifying glass that works in both directions.
Counterweight is a physics puzzle about the word "scale" you scale blocks up and down to balance the scales they sit on. Grow a block and it gets heavier. Shrink it and it gets lighter, the beams do the rest.

How to plays
Scroll up on a block to grow it. Scroll down to shrink it. That is the whole interface: no dragging, no throwing, mouse only. Every level shows its target above each beam (hold it level, or tip it left or right), and you win by holding every beam on target for two steady seconds. On screen buttons cover reset and menu; R and Esc do the same if you prefer keys.

The catch
Each level hands you a budget of size steps. Growing spends them, shrinking refunds them, and the later puzzles will not let you max everything. Materials change the math: stone outweighs wood at the same size, metal outweighs both, glass refuses to grow past medium and shatters under too much load, explosives detonate when overloaded, and the aliens are guests. Guests cannot be resized. Balance around them.

Ten levels, three medals
Every level times you from your first scroll and grades the solve: Gold for beating the time par and the budget par, Silver for one of the two, Bronze for getting there at all. Bests are saved per level, and the level select shows your medal shelf. The finale is one giant contraption with three beams that all have to settle at once.

Made in the Kenney Jam 2026 window
Built during the Kenney Jam 2026 weekend (theme: SCALE) under the jam's constraints: every sprite, font, and sound is by Kenney, and the game is mouse only.

I really like physics based games and puzzle games, so I really enjoyed this.
If i had to change anything, Id change the budget from a number to some kind of bar, because its difficult to see, but other than that cool idea!
Yeah totally agree, it is easy to miss. I'll change that to have an easy to view indicator, besides numbers, so it accomodates both type of people. And probably also the stabalizing indicator a more colourful bar, greenw with green background also hard to miss.
